This political post is for Eliot:

Sheehan. I wish people - besides President Bush - would leave her alone. Can't a lady just kinda grieve in her own way for her son? Obviously not in this country. People keep writing into the newspaper talking about how she is dishonoring her son. Yeah, I think she knew her son best and anything she can do to show her support and love for her son is doing more of an honor to him than a dishonor...
I saw Bush on TV today, and he commented on her when he was asked directly. He said he was not going out to meet with her; two members of his staff already had and she has expressed her views and he disagrees with them. He then stated that those people who are calling for an immediate withdrawal from Iraq (now, I honestly don't know, so feel free to tell me which way it is, but is Sheehan really calling for an immediate withdrawal? I thought she was just saying that she wanted to know the real, solid reasons why they were in there in the first place.) Of course "immediate withdrawal" is a stupid idea. Having plans for withdrawal is different than immediate withdrawal, now isn't it, Georgie.
Also on the news they showed a group of protestors, people who have also lost children in Iraq, who are on a traveling protest ending at Crawford to say "We don't agree with Sheehan." OK, disagree with her. But turn your kids' deaths into a vengeful protest against another grieving parent? Sheehan isn't doing that, she just wants answers and know what it was that justified her kid's death, which I imagine any parent who has lost a child does.

Eliot, ready for reply. Next time we can discuss intelligent design. And the California Supreme Court "two mommies" decision. That's a good one.
