I was making sure my last post posted, and I realized I guess I forgot to post about the last kid who died...last Thursday night, he was on one of those Potomac cruises (you know, they have them on the Mississippi too), and as it was docking (late at night), he fell off the edge and landed in the river...his girlfirned jumped in after him but wasn't able to find him. They called the police and the MPD divers came and looked for him for about 3 hours, but they never were able to find him. We got an email that he was "presumed" dead. A few days later they found his body (well, "a" body, but once again it was "presumed" that it was his). So that was sad. Imagine if you were his girlfriend, too, and you weren't able to save him!!

Someone said something later in the week though, that made me mad...I don't remember who it was though, but it was pretty insensitive. They made some comment about how "well, maybe if he wasn't DRINKING that much, he wouldn't have fallen off the boat. And he would have been able to swim, or his girlfriend would have been able to rescue him!" I thought that was pretty rude, especially considering that they don't know if he had been drinking at all, or how much. It was a fairly small number of people on the boat, so it's not like some big party where everyone's going wild. It's like they blamed him for dying though. And even if he WAS drinking, who cares?
