So who just had the easiest midterm ever? Yeah, that's right, ME!
Haha. I knew I was studying too much. I just didn't know WHAT to study, so I had to memorize everything. Awesome. And the last question I even had enough space to put a case study in. (He recommended it if we had space and time.)
Yay.
OK, so onto other topics:
Recently (for the past week or so) there has been this murderous-looking murder of crows outside my dorm. It is kinda freaky. There are sooo many of them, and they just sit on the roof and the windows and caw really loud. Do you think they are going to kill me soon? Or it means that I am going to die? Hmmm...
This weekend I have to do a bunch of research for my Islam paper. Except I can't find many sources, so that may prove difficult. I have to also get all my reading done for that class and Ethics (and Africa for my oral exam on (monday? tuesday? i forget when I signed up...except I am going with one other person so I think that that will actually make it easier).
My brother James keeps calling me and asking about his birthday present, that it hasn't arrived yet. He asks things like, "You did send it, right?" And I say, "Silly, why WOULDN'T I send it?" See, I'm being very careful not to lie...
This afternoon I have been asked to go speak to my African professor's freshman class to help teach them to write a good paper. (As I said to him, maybe you want to read one of my papers before you ask me that!!) That should probably be interesting. I think I'll tell them to make an outline. That should do it, huh? (Hey, I didn't say that I was going to tell them how to write a paper like I do, just how to write a good paper.)
So I stopped in at Wisey's, a sandwich shop on the edge of campus, to get something to reward myself for my awesome midterm (ok, I better get a good grade on this one...), and I noticed as I went in that it is owned by the Prester John Corp. This is quite interesting to me. I just learned a few weeks ago in Islam class that Prester John was this legendary figure that the Europeans thought held a Christian stronghold somewhere out in the middle east or india or "thereabouts" (as those places were pretty much all the same to them) -- they went in search for them hoping that he could help them hold off those darn muslims.
So...I wonder why a sandwich shop is owned by a company named Prester John.
Think about that, will ya?
