So I haven't posted in 2 weeks. Oh well. Oops.

I went home for one of those weeks though, and had mucho fun. It was Paul's fall break, and then his last big college race (in which he nearly beat Martins, and if anyone argues, I have pictures to prove that he was ahead), and then James' first high school play, and Halloween with Johanna, and sleepovers with the same, and all-around fun times.

After Paul's race on Saturday we went to a CC costume party which was pretty fun. I just got my pictures back from that today (well, most of them, but then I put in a new roll of film, so I don't have all of them yet). The next day (Halloween), Johanna and I carved pumpkins, and I took her trick-or-treating (she dressed as a cat...this means she put on a white sweatsuit (her choice) and black cat ears, and "no tail...because how would you put on a TAIL?!", and i drew whiskers on her face. And she wore black ballet slippers.) And, of course, we took the super-kitty.

She was really cute. At every house she'd look at all of the decorations and then go up to the door and when the people came she'd say "It's Halloween!" They would be surprised to find out, but then very happily give her lots of candy because she was a cutie-pie, and I'd whisper her lines to her: "Trick-or-treat! psst..Johanna...trick-or-treat!!" "OK, thank you! Turn around! Say thank you!"

The cat was not as amused as Johanna. There were dogs at the first 2 houses (good thing I had her on a leash, she tried to run far. There were cats at the next two, which I think for her were even worse. at those houses she didn't run, but she jumped in the bushes to hide. By the time we got home she went in the door and started slinking around the house as if she was too embarrassed to be seen. Then she asked me to let her in the basement and as soon as i cracked the door open she streaked downstairs and disappeared for the rest of the night.

I went to Paul's parents for dinner but later that night went back home to have a Halloween sleepover with Johanna. That meant that we "got our teeth all dirty with sugar" and read lots of books and played with toys and cuddled a lot and watched most of lord of the rings I. Then the next morning we got up and continued doing that. We had a lot of fun.

She was SOOOO pissed when I left, she cried all day and luckily was buckled into a carseat or wouldn't have let me get out at the airport. I called her as soon as I got in that night, and (at least by then she would talk to me) asked her how she was, and she said " not good." I asked why, and she said "Because you LEFT!!" She stayed that way for the next 2 days. But now she's better, because I sent her a letter full of stickers, plus a plan for what she's going to do every weekend until I get home (hopefully James and Catherine will be excited that I planned a party with one and a sleepover with the other...although they don't know about it yet...)

I am getting my bioterrorism book tomorrow that I ordered, I am very excited. I have to think of a paper topic; I may do one on the likelihood of a bioterror attack given the current interpretation of/thoughts on terrorism.

Last night I was at this thing where all the schools compete against each other in a trivia contest, and then they take a break and have a hot-wings eating contest...the guys have to first eat a plate of 10 hot wings, then a plate of 10 hotter wings, then eat one wing covered in wasabe sauce (a bright green wing!!) Gross. One guy threw up...another one almost did. But the guy who won last year had no problem and won again easily. Good for him. If you have to have one skill in life...at least it's that.
Also they had an auction to have dinner with George Tenet and 11 or 12 other friends in Riggs, and one kid bid $1600. He said he was prepared to go up to $2000. Ridiculous!! You could just take his class in the fall, or even easily go to his OFFICE!!!!!! I bid a few hundred dollars, cause I figured I could EASILY find 12 people who would pay tens of dollars to go, and it would pay for the whole thing, plus i could go too. nice! but then i dropped off cause these two people were INSANE.

I got a cool job over thanksgiving. I just have to take 3-5 people on a tour of gtown and answer their questions, and I get paid $40!! Nice!!! Cause all I'll be doing is sitting at home writing term papers (which is a good thing, because I'll get them done), so it will be a nice break!!

OK hopefully that will tide you over for a while's until I can have more adventures. Which don't worry, I have several planned. Even though unplanned ones of course are better.
