So today I had my class-free day all planned out. I was going to get up at 8 and go to the gym, shower and eat breakfast, work at 10:30, go to GW to Ghalib's apartment to get my wok and knives, and then go to Target to get a whole bunch more stuff.

Well...I didn't get to sleep until 1:30 last night. So I didn't get up at 8, I got up at 9-9:30 instead. So I ate breakfast and ambled over to work. Uhhh...so it turns out that I wasn't working from 10:30-1, I was working from 1-3:30. That was a little hitch in the plans, because I told Ghalib I'd come over around one.

Well anyways I took advantage of the time and went to the gym instead. Then I went back (after showering, of course!) to the coffee shop and worked my shift, which finished with a bang as the fire alarm started blaring. Yay. So I went outside and saw my portuguese professor from freshman year, as well as Pedro, whom I had been informed had gotten a better job in Europe and flew out a few days ago (he said they must have been pulling my leg -- those brazilian jerks!)

Anyways I talked to them and Naomi said that both the ambassadors at Mozambique and Angola are very nice and they would love to work with me and I would really like them. So that gives me more confidence.

So after that I headed out to Ghalib's as he said he didnt have class til five. It's very easy to get to as the blue bus goes down there. But, turns out he has no idea what's going on and he had class UNTIL five. So I sat outside his apartment in the rain for the better part of an hour reading a simply FASCINATING book, dahling, about muslim institutions in the US. Then I left him a message (the third one) that I was going home.

So, I didn't get my stuff from Ghalib's, and by that point I was soaked and didn't feel like going all the way out to Target in greenbelt, so I went back to campus and got a drink at UG and went to the bookstore to get some items and then here I am, in the secret ultra-exclusive nursing computer lab that erin swiped me into and then put in the secret password so i could use this computer. so i got on IM for the first time in quite a while so was able to tell some people my phone # and everything who i couldn't communicate with otherwise. and then lxr paul (who lived in my dorm junior year) called me back about the baseball game on monday, because he hadn't checked his messages as he thought it was just his mom calling. (nice.)

erin and i are about to go out to chipotle, but right now we're playing around on facebook, which we just joined because we didnt know what it was but everyone in the world seemed to be talking about it. more than friendster even.
