Sarah is totally getting proposed to this Valentine's Day. Which is very hilarious. Especially because her boyfriend is very well aware that she has no desire, not ever, to get married. I was laughing so hard - I think I said what she had been not wanting to admit, that he totally is going to. He has been talking up his friend who is proposing to his girlfriend, and has been talking all about the ring he's getting his proposee, and getting sarah's reaction to all this. Soooo funny. And he's making an especially big deal about Valentine's Day, which is quite unlike him (imagine Paul all of a sudden making it a huge priority to come to town and go out to a fancy dinner (voluntarily!) and talking it up for forever in advance). Then she called him the other day and he didn't have time to talk but needed to call tomorrow, it was very important, to ask her some "questions." But then he said he needed to do more "research" before he asked her these questions -- and apologized in advance if something "wasn't here by this weekend"...and i tried to convince her that it couldn't possibly be a ring because for god's sake who ORDERS a ring and doesn't go SEE it? But then she reminded me that his mother is in the international jewelry business, so he IS someone who is likely to order a ring. So then I told her that he is just really technological and is probably just getting her some sort of equipment like a new computer part. Which she wanted to believe but it was funny because of course she didn't. So I told her she had to call me as soon as she could this weekend. And then when I got off the phone I called erin immediately but she is in bed because she has clinicals in the morning.

I find this all very funny. Which probably isn't that nice, but sarah knows I find it funny, so it's not as bad. (Every time I gave her a reason why he's not and we are just making fools of ourselves, she said "Are you just saying that?" And then I had to laugh and say yes. Hehe.)
