So this whole move is gross and annoying and involves way too much packing just to carry something down a block and most likely unpack it.
OK, story:
I was working on Sunday at the Irish Fair at Harriet Island, and it was really hot and we were standing in the sun. At one point in the afternoon a Red Cross guy came and asked us to move off to the side because there was an ambulance coming through. The sirens came closer but no ambulance showed up and then the guy came out and said it was going to the other side of the island.
I was getting all dehydrated because of standing in the sun, so I went over to the Irish Indeed booth where they gave me a soda. Yay! Then I called Megan Fee and told her to come to the fair and bring me a gatorade. (Her boyfriend Mike works at Irish Indeed so she was going to come at some point anyways.) So she said she'd be there in a little while...but she never showed up. So I was kind of annoyed with her and didn't bother calling because she didn't bother showing up. Then I called her on Monday and asked her what was up, and she said, "Didn't you hear? I was in the hospital all night!!"
Turns out that she parked her car under the High Bridge about 2 o'clock (for you washingtonians, you can guess how high that bridge is). Just like in the Allstate commercials that they've been showing in the olympics, she locked her car, turned around, took two steps, and something slammed into her arm (she said she first thought she had been shot, but actually it was a big metal pipe that someone had thrown off the bridge). She was just screaming and screaming, so luckily there were a couple bikers with a cell phone going by, so they called an ambulance. So that was the ambulance that we heard that afternoon.
Her arm was bent really funny so everyone thought it was totally fractured. But they did an X-ray and they said her muscle was actually just really badly bruised. So she's on a lot of pain meds and has a "soft cast" which sounds like a splint pretty much. Ow. Also she has a 20+ page paper due in a few days and she can't type. so that's cool.
More stories later!!
