I've been knitting this sweater for about a week for Johanna, now, and I've got 6 inches already, which I think is pretty good, especially considering that I had to restart it over already once when i had gotten to 5 inches because there was a twist in the sweater. Oops!! Glad Erin caught that one. Anyway, it's going to be a very cute sweater-hat-mittens combo -- she picked out the pattern (ok, well it was the one I had already picked out and it was going to be a surprise, but she dug in my purse and found the pattern book and picked it out, so that was good....) It's very cute - blue with little snowflakes and bunnies. She better like it and wear it every day I see her this Christmas.
So, I did some networking yesterday. I went to a lecture after class and there happened to be someone in the audience (it was a small group, about 25 people) who was from this place I just applied to last week. So I went up to him afterward and talked with him for a while; he works in the same department I sent my resume in to and knew about the job and the basic qualifications for it and said that I probably would qualify for it just fine -- provided no expert came in, of course...they wanted a master's degree and since i'll only have a BS i was worried this was a problem, but he said that the girl who was leaving didn't have a masters. good.
anyway, nothing too interesting to report out here. so i'll leave you with a joke. (elephant jokes are GOOD, paul - so there!)
What did the cat say to the elephant?
Meow.
