Alright, so this gross article was in the newspaper yesterday:
anti-gay rally article
On Monday there was a rally at our state capitol by people wanting the legislature to pass a MN consitutional amendment saying marriage is between a man and a woman, no one else. What's the point, Minnesota? You've already got an amendment saying no gay marriage. What, you just want to confirm your hatred? J-C.
I had wanted to attend that rally (as an anti-rallyer, so that I could laugh at people when they told me I was going to hell) on Monday but was unable to, since I don't drive and the bus system is on strike and then I ended up going to the doctor anyways, so I was disappointed. I couldn't exactly get my mother, someone who would have been rallying on the side of the anti-gays, to drive me down to the capitol. I will have to fix up my bike for tomorrow's rally in SUPPORT of marriage. (The capitol is only a few miles away, right down the road.)
Anyways, besides the fact that all of Minnesota's politicians and apparently thousands of its concerned citizens are pissing me off with their hatred, I DID think the picture on the article was appropriate and amusing. It shows a sophomore at St. Agnes high school (Minneapolis) holding a "NO SODOMITE MARRIAGE" sign, and it rather made me chuckle. St. Agnes WOULD be there, I bet they called the day off school so their students could all go protest. St. Agnes is bordering on pre-Vatican II, still does Latin 'high' masses, their students learn Latin, etc...they are just plain weird and this like little catholic cult school...one of my best friends from high school went there and I haven't seen her since January 3 2003, when we got in a fight over whether or not I would be marching in the pro-life parade in DC later that month. (She was pissed cause I said no and told her that she oughtn't to be either.)
Ahhhh, Aggies.
