Hmm, sorry, haven't posted in a bit. Although I've had lots to say.
Today I mostly finished my 2nd of 3 papers for my incomplete class. Meaning I put a lot of words down on paper and typed it all up, although I declined to write a conclusion until I polish up the paper. I think I got to the point with this paper where I just wrote a whole bunch and I'm not sure if I said anything or really answered the question. So I think I need to go back and read the whole thing. I don't think I will get a good grade on this one. Isn't that kind of frustrating, when you get to the point where you're just thinking, ya know, I KNOW I didn't do well, but...I'm not gonna re-write an entire paper (since I already started over when I was at about 3 pages). BY THE WAY BLOND GIRL SITTING NEXT TO ME, THIS BLOG POST IS NOT THAT INTERESTING, PLEASE STOP READING OVER MY SHOULDER, THANK YOU.
Caucuses are tomorrow, and no I still have not given it more thought. S I have been thinking about you actually and would order you some rice pudding and gladware-sticky-things were I in town. Or MAKE you some rice pudding, haHA!
Paul and I made rice pudding on Friday. Here's how you do it:
Get a really big pot and a flat metal thing for scraping and stirring (there's actually some weird Indian utensil that his mom had, so...) Put in rice and a whole bunch of whole milk, and then boil that. then simmer it for about an hour while you stir and scrape basically the whole time. don't let it stick to the sides or bottom. then put in some sweetened condensed milk and spices and cook some more. Then let it cool and thicken for a long time while you taste-test it a lot. Then eat a whole bunch of it. And forget to put it away that night and leave it out but dont worry there's tons of sugar and fat in it so it's ok the next morning if you have to eat a big bowl for breakfast (darnit!) If anyone wants the more detailed instructions, too bad I'm lazy. You'll have to wait til next fall when you can watch the pro at work.
Sarah, would this work? Paul and i thought I should just go spend that year with the aunties in malaysia after all. Then I would really get to know the culture, and I would learn SOME language, either punjabi or malay or something, and probably snippets of others (chinese, hindi etc) and then the 'state dept' would definitely want me?? At least I would know how to cook good food. "Full Punjabi dinner." Yummmmy.
I'm sleepy and I think I will go walk in the rain to Paul's apartment and take a nap until he gets back from his internship. I thought finishing this paper would take longer, but since I did a crappy job on it, it didn't. But I'm not sure what to do with it, so...maybe in a little bit I will read it over again. (Man if I actually were at school I'd just hand it in but now I feel guilty cause the professor's like "no, take your time! do a good job! just take your time..." so now he expects GOOD work. Pfffft.)
