So I'm back at school now after a pretty uneventful trip. Except for when I walked into my gate at the airport and this girl immediately approached me and asked if I wanted to split a cab back to school (I was wearing a gtown sweatshirt). I said that would be alright, even though I was planning on taking the Metro for $1.35 I figured a few dollars more (ok like 10) to be dropped off at my door wouldn't be all bad, plus not having to lug my bag around. Then I sat down a ways away and turns out the girl sitting next to me also goes to Gtown. So I met 2 girls, a freshman and a sophomore, in the space of 3 minutes. The first one was from Fargo, a freshman, and she was terrified of taking a cab all by herself. It also turns out that she went to Music Camp (yes, I went to band camp), the same place I did! The other one is from Mahtomedi. It also turned out with her that she is good friends with a kid from my floor who I am friends with. And a girl who works with me.

These girls had ENORMOUS amounts of luggage though, so we couldn't all take a cab. Luckily, the Fargo girl met a girl from her dorm at the baggage claim, so they took one and the Mahtomedi girl and I took the other. Fun times.

Since I was having a good time meeting these people (and making our mutual friend from my floor carry my luggage to my room - not that it was heavy but it was just nicer to have someone carry my bag), I was ok with coming back. But when I got to my room and began unpacking, for some reason I just kinda lost it and started crying. I'm always lonely the first couple days, and I couldn't get to sleep at night -- good thing I had a class first thing this morning to get me started though. I have 2 more classes today too, and then 2 shifts of work tomorrow. That's a good start.

This morning I had my class with Albright. My friend who lives in the room right above me is in it so I sat next to him. He had gotten the time wrong though so arrived at the classroom very early and put his stuff down - mind you, not in the first row. When we went into the class 20 minutes later though, other people had arrived and EVERYONE except for this chick who is a really random uber-SFS girl had sat behind him. So we looked, especially since we were nearly directly in front of the podium, like we were huge dorks. Especially since he got there first.

Good thing is, I already have 3 of the books cause I ran to the library immediately for one, Sarah lent me another, and I had to buy one for last semester. yay! Now I just looked up the readings for 2 other classes on the online syllabi and there are 3 more books available in the library that I can get. Whooee, this semester is starting off good (and cheap). I also just emailed a professor and asked her if she would do a tutorial with me this semester so I could actually get credit for working on this paper of mine.

I am going to go running soon, I think that will hopefully relieve some of my stress.
Yesterday Johanna was, of course, very sad that I was leaving and got rather angry with me, as was expected. ("3 weeks was NOT a long time!!!") But it turns out later that she had had a fever of 103, so that probably contributed to her miserableness.

All the maps in my room were falling down when I got back, but I haven't bothered to rectify that yet. Oh well. I have to get a couple more too; one of France and one of Africa, at least. I wish I could find the map Erin gave me of the upside-down world.
Tomorrow I am excited to go grocery-shopping, then I will have food besides the pudding, cream cheese, syrup, and soy sauce that are currently in my fridge. Perhaps I will make a big meal.

OK, off to snatch up these books and go to the gym!
