Last night we had this huge storm here in MN. It was pretty cool. Some lights are out in the city but I don't think much (although I haven't looked at the news yet). Probably more in the suburbs...tornadoes were touching down there. It was really really nice out all day, around 80 degrees, and then all of a sudden around 5:00 I was sitting in my room and the storm sirens go off...then at 5:30 it gets all dark and thundering and rain starts pounding down (and the sirens go off allll evening) and windy...it was pretty cool to watch. A few minutes later my sister arrives for dinner and she has to bring in all this stuff from her car, which is hilarious, because it has started hailing very large hail (ow!) (Hilarious because I didn't have to go outside, just watch her do it.)
For mothers day we had another family dinner, which for some reason my sisters think is the greatest gift ever, which leaves me wondering if they have selective memory loss of every other family gathering we have had in the history of our family. They are grueling affairs.
Also, I made a Brazilian dessert for the occasion, out of avocados (they use avocados there in sweet things, as it is a fruit, rarely in things like guacamole). I thought it was pretty good. Everyone else refused to try it except Sheila who took one spoonful and my mom who actually took a double helping. Emily couldn't cause she is lactose intolerant (has cream in it) and Deirdre pretended she was too full. Oh well. (The boys didnt pretend anything.)
I am typing this much because I am trying to remember the reason I came on here especial...something last night made me think "Oh! I need to blog that!"
Gar. I really need to just get on the computer when I think that.
Erin have you reached a decision about our plans? We can make a whole morning out of it (afternoon if preferred...)
