So last night I went to my little brother's high school graduation. When we got to the Cathedral, my mom for some reason highly encouraged me to go off and find Paul's family instead of just coming and sitting down with her. I was going to go with her, and then she walked off. So, ok. I found Paul quickly enough and we were chatting for a while (I got half my washington pictures back! E there's a nice one of you and I at the toga party.) Then I go to find my parents at the other end of the Cathedral, and as Paul has predicted, they have failed to save me a seat. Great. Wonderful of them, no?

So I ask them to make the people next to them slide down and we can all squeeze in, and reluctantly they do. (Um, hello? I'm your daughter? The one you drove here with?) There is a teenage girl at my end of the pew and she lets me in beside her and I apologize for making her squeeze; she says it is fine. But her mother then turns around from the pew in front of us and says, "Actually, she was saving a seat there for someone else." I say, "oh, no problem, we can all squeeze," as the girl says, "Mom! This is her family! Geez!" Her mom looks at her and says, "Well where do you expect Jimbob to sit? The FLOOR?!" And looks back at me, waiting for me to get up and leave. The girl is really nice about it but finally the mom is so exasperated that she puts out a big dramatic sigh and tells the girl to move to the pew in front of her and make sure to save enough seats this time. The girl says, "uh, why don't we all just move to that pew?" So they did and they all fit with room to spare and it was pretty hilarious cause this lady was going to have a fit about this and really she didn't need to at all.

The ceremony was pretty standard, speeches and whatnot; couldn't hear half of what was said due to our placement. My dad has the best manners in the world and as soon as the student speaker let out her first word he closed his eyes and settled down for a nap. Wow. Can't wait til I have to pay for him to come to my graduation.

Well ok. I'm off.

Does anyone actually read this anymore?
