So I made it to DC!
First flight yesterday was slightly bumpy, but not too bad, which made it all the more funnier because the pilot kept apologizing profusely and telling us he was going to "fly higher...no, fly horizontal...no, we'll figure something out. You should hear all these pilots on air control complaining about this!!" Haha.
I got to Atlanta and had a few hours to kill so I went out in the city. I headed back to the Varsity, naturally, for some hot wings and an FO. Then I had a nice extended conversation with two homeless gentlemen sitting on some church steps on the way back to the MARTA. Had I seen them before I would have invited them to join me at the Varsity. They knew how to play me though, asked if I worked out because I looked like it! Hahaha. Man I'm a sucker.
Then back on the MARTA I asked one guy what time it was and I guess he took that as a come-on cause he tried to pick me up, even telling me where he lived. "I sure wish we could keep in touch," he kept saying. I'd just smile. Haha. See ya later, Tom. (? He spoke kinda softly so I'm just guessing at his name.)
Second flight was alright, I just read for a while and fell asleep (first flight I didn't even get to the reading part hehe)...the landing was a bit rough but not too bad, not like this guy on the Metro shuttle would have had you believe, he was talking about how he thought he was gonna die and terrified and all that....uhhhh dude, you ever been on a plane before? (Mmmm...those hot wings were good. I want more.)
So the flight got in 40 minutes early, about 9:15, so I got to go catch the metro in the rain and then go flag a taxi in the pouring rain (and they kept ignoring me!!) But then I made it home, and got to wake up Brighid and Sarah I think but that's ok. Brighid was very pleased with her funny owl-candy. Erin and Rasha showed up soon (since I had told everyone I wasn't getting in until after midnight, they were early). We ordered food from Quick Pita and it was yummy. Then Maya and Rasha decided they wanted to go see the 12:30 showing of Troy, so Erin and I went with them. Meaning I was up until about 4, but wide awake at 10:15 calling Mary to go to the gym. Good workout. (PS Paul you're glad we didn't go see it with Leah on Friday.)
So this morning I went running and I just came to Leavey to buy breakfast (have to hit up the Safeway later for this week but not yet)...I am sitting here trying to think of ways to finagle a Senior bracelet so I can go to the events...they've got a very tight hold on them though, it doesn't look like students are passing them out and you have to read this statement/pledge also gah. I just want to go to the damn BBQ!
So I think I will go eat my breakfast outside and go hom eot see if Erin is awake and if she and Bree want to go shopping. The end of my post.
