This makes me sad:

Man Objects to Communion for Gay Group

This Sunday a Catholic GLBT group (and their supporters) are going to church at the Cathedral, like they do every year, wearing rainbow sashes...a quiet demonstration. This guy here is planning on physically blocking them from receiving Communion. Physical altercations in the Cathedral! Jeez man, lay off. Even the archbishop said his plan is disrespectful and it is not up to him to decide who should be receiving Communion...and that he is not planning on preventing anyone who wants it from receiving it.

Anyway, what makes me especially sad about this is that this is my goodgood friend's dad. (I haven't seen the friend much in a while, but you guys remember Allie, who came and visited freshman year? B even you know here cause you worked with Natasha at the Cheese Factory.)

So I'm not sure what I should do, because I feel like I should go and support the group that is there, if I really mean what I talk about all the time. But that is scary, facing up to someone you know so well. And in the middle of a Cathedral! Yikes! Even though lots of bishops said I can't go to Communion anyways (especially now that I'm doing the devil's work (ie John Kerry)),....

So I don't know. Do you guys think I should go and look him in the eye and see if he turns away people he knows? Or do you think I should chicken out and not go? I haven't been to church in millions of years anyways...

(Erin you will appreciate part of the article though that says "It's not like they're breaking into a Unitarian church." Hahaha!)
